Friday, September 25 may have been a rainy day in Minnesota but it was bright and beautiful in Faribault.  We celebrated the beginning of the construction of Fayfield Hall, SSM’s new center for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education with a groundbreaking ceremony.  A real community-wide affair participants included students, faculty, staff, trustees, alumni, parents and friends as well as Faribault’s mayor and city manager.  Featured speaker was Bob Fayfield, Shattuck Class of 1958, for whom the building is named.  The center is projected to be ready for occupancy by the end of calendar year 2010.
