Faribault’s first dining establishment east of the Straight River opened in early June. The Grill at The Legacy overlooks the 18th green and putting practice area of The Legacy golf course. Offering a variety of soup, salads, sandwiches and dinner entrees, The Grill also has a full beverage service. Local top chef, Jeff LeBeau,  and The Depot Bar and Grill are managing the restaurant venture . For players finishing a round of golf or people looking for a dining alternative in Faribault, The Grill at The Legacy offers both indoor and patio seating to enjoy great food with beautiful views. The Grill will be open for lunch seven days a week and evenings Thursday through Sunday.

The SSM Boys Golf team won the Section 2AA Championship on June 2, 2011 at Creek’s Bend Golf Course in New Prague, Minn. Also successful on the girl’s side was Sabre golfer Sydney Brickey ’13 who won the individual Section 2AA title with an 83. The boys team and Brickey will compete on June 15 and 16 at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan. Minn. As part of the state tournament program, SSM Head Coach, Mike Frankenfield, will be inducted into the Minnesota State High School Golf Hall of Fame.
