FRENCH TEACHER

PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is searching for a French Teacher to join the World Language Department faculty. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching French at all levels—French I through advanced placement—in a college preparatory program.
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is a residential and day school and faculty are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting.
A willingness to integrate technology in the language classroom and develop courses in a blended learning model is critical for this hire.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Teach five sections of French
- Serve as a dorm parent in one of our dormitories.
- Serve as a student advisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years’ experience in teaching French
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Master’s Degree or relevant coursework preferred

ENGLISH-AS-A-SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) TEACHER
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School offers a college preparatory ESL program for students in grades 6-12 for whom English is not their native language. This program provides evaluations for admissions and program exit, progress evaluations, classroom instruction, on-site TOEFL testing, guidance for non-ESL instructors, and non-classroom learning experiences. In addition, the ESL program includes a residential ESL Summer Institute.
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is a residential and day school and faculty are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential duties involved with a residential school setting, including serving as a live-in dorm parent.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Teach 4-5 sections of ESL, to include ESL I and ESL II and ESL sheltered history courses for grades 6 – 9.
- Lead activities and support students through the Global Education Program.
- Serve as a student advisor.

DANCE INSTRUCTOR FOR KOREA POLY SUMMER CAMP
July 18, 2013 – August 15, 2013
PURPOSE
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School hosts and conducts a four-week ESL program for rising 3rd through 6th grade Korean students currently enrolled at Koreapolyschool (Seoul, Korea) programs. This program provides morning ESL instruction for approximately 50 students in four sections. Instruction in reading, writing, and conversational English are provided to all of the students enrolled in the program, and curriculum is provided and directed by Koreapolyschool staff who accompany the students during the four-week program.
Room and Board will be provided for camp employees from out of the area.
HOURS OF WORK: 12 total classes (4x per week M-F) 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is considering applicants from a wide variety of backgrounds for this position, but experience teaching dance to students of middle and high school age is preferred.

MATH TEACHER
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an Independent College Preparatory Day/Boarding School (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a high-level mathematics instructor with a minimum of 2-4 years of teaching experience. This individual will be prepared to teach through the highest levels of the math curriculum: Precalculus, Advanced Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC; however, candidates should be willing and able to teach all levels of math. Additionally, we are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills who will work collaboratively with members of the mathematics department to encourage development and growth and who is willing to teach math in a blended course environment (i.e., class meetings twice weekly supplemented by online components, extra help sessions, and study groups).
Shattuck St. Mary’s School is a boarding/day school and faculty members are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate will be comfortable instructing in an innovative educational environment and be familiar with utilizing technological strategies in the classroom and open to blended teaching.
- Further, this individual should be qualified to coach/oversee math teams, mentor the highest achieving mathematics students, work with students from our Engineering program, and support struggling math students.
- Candidate will participate in residential life duty, including serving as a live-in dorm parent as needed and serve as a student advisor and lead co-curricular activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2-4 years’ experience in teaching Math or equivalent preparation or documented ability to teach upper level math classes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Master’s Degree or relevant coursework preferred
