MATH TEACHER
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an Independent College Preparatory Day/Boarding School (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking a high-level mathematics instructor with a minimum of 2-4 years of teaching experience. This individual will be prepared to teach through the highest levels of the math curriculum: Precalculus, Advanced Precalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. Additionally, we are seeking an individual with strong leadership skills who will work collaboratively with members of the mathematics department to encourage development and growth and who is willing to teach math in a blended course environment (i.e., class meetings twice weekly supplemented by online components, extra help sessions, and study groups).
Shattuck St. Mary’s School is a boarding/day school and faculty members are expected to be involved with both co-curricular activities and standard residential life duties involved with a residential school setting.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate will be comfortable instructing in an innovative educational environment and be familiar with utilizing technological strategies in the classroom and open to blended teaching.
- Further, this individual should be qualified to coach/oversee math teams, mentor the highest achieving mathematics students, work with students from our Engineering program, and support struggling math students.
- Candidate will participate in residential life duty, including serving as a live-in dorm parent as needed and serve as a student advisor and lead co-curricular activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2-4 years’ experience in teaching Math or equivalent preparation or documented ability to teach upper level math classes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; Master’s Degree or relevant coursework preferred

LATIN TEACHER
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is seeking a Latin Teacher to join the World Language Department faculty. The successful candidate will be comfortable teaching Latin at all levels—Latin I through advanced—in a college preparatory program.
Candidates should also be prepared to teach Latin in a blended classroom model, where class meets twice weekly and students complete the rest of the curriculum through online components, independent work, and individual meetings with teachers.

ACCOMPANIST AND VOCAL MUSIC INSTRUCTOR
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an Independent Preparatory Day/Boarding School (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota. The School recognizes the powerful role a professional accompanist can play in strengthening all aspects of the music program. The School is seeking an accompanist and vocal music instructor to lead two vocal groups and provide accompaniment for a range of programs and students.
This role will:
- Direct the Middle School and Upper School Choir (2 daily class sections) and provide occasional support for the Upper School vocal ensemble, Elements of Sound.
- Provide regular accompaniment support for the School’s elite music programs: the Vocal Performance Program and the Preconservatory Strings programs (see website for more information on these programs).
- Provide piano instruction (beginner and intermediate) for students in the Vocal Performance Program (1 period each day).
- Provide accompaniment for weekly chapel services, School musicals, and special events.
- Accompany student performers on trips as needed.
- Teach Blended (online in combination with classroom instruction) Music Theory Course.
Applicants should expect to be actively involved in all aspects of the School’s programs and life. Willingness to live and work in a dormitory setting strongly preferred.

ENGINEERING INSTRUCTOR
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School, an Independent College Preparatory Day/Boarding School (grades 6-12) in Faribault, Minnesota, is seeking an Engineering Instructor to develop and teach a nationally notable engineering program. This is a position for a highly motivated and engaging individual who is excited by the prospect of balancing teaching and curriculum development in a boarding school environment. Engineering classes are taught in a state-of-the-art facility that includes a 3D printer, a laser cutter, robotics equipment,10 dual-screen computer stations, SolidWorks software, and Vernier technology.
Applicants should expect to be actively involved in all aspects of the School’s programs including leadership in co-curricular activities, service as a student advisor, and service in the residential life program. Willingness to live and work in a dormitory setting strongly preferred.

ROPES COURSE/CHALLENGE COURSE FACILITATORS
PURPOSE:
Shattuck-St. Mary’s School is seeking facilitators to lead year round ropes course/challenge course programming.
REQUIREMENTS:
Hours depend on events scheduled. Facilitators must have a flexible schedule, with availability during the day on weekdays.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicants must be 18 years or older, attend a forty-hour training on ropes course safety and facilitation provided by the school, and commit to facilitating for at least one year following the training.
- Previous experience with challenge courses is preferred but not required.
