Shattuck-St. Mary’s community members of all nations joined together on Friday, March 17 to celebrate culture, diversity, food, and fun as part of SSM’s annual International Day.
Each year, the SSM community gathers for an afternoon honoring the diverse cultures represented within the School. Festivities kicked off with a rousing Flag Ceremony, as students, faculty, and staff members from more than 30 different countries proudly entered Johnson Gymnasium flag-in-hand to the sound of their national anthem.
After honoring each country represented at SSM, the school community had the opportunity to experience the authentic culture of each nation as they visited numerous stations positioned throughout the School. Each station featured delicious entrees, desserts, and beverages specific to each culture for all to sample, along with music, games, and activities that brought the campus alive throughout the afternoon.
