The Shattuck-St. Mary’s Boys U14 hockey team competes in a rigorous seven-month schedule, averaging 50-65 games a season, with tournament play throughout the United States and Canada. The program has won three USA Hockey Tier I National Championships. Former players have gone on to play for their respective youth and senior level national teams, NCAA Division I and Division III programs, as well as professionally in North America and Europe.
Student-athletes are on the ice five to seven days per week and each participates in a year-round strength and conditioning program. Players have access to two NHL regulation-sized arenas and a 3v3 ice rink, a 10,500 sq. foot weight training and conditioning facility, video room for team and individual analysis, as well as an athletic training room providing advanced aquatic therapy and full-time athletic training staff.
Christian Bragnalo, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, re-joined the Shattuck-St. Mary's Hockey program when he was hired in 2016 to coach the U14 team. Coach Bragnalo previously was a head coach at SSM from 2005-2012 where he coached at all levels within the SSM hockey program including the Midget AA, Midget AAA, and U16 teams.
Prior to joining SSM, Bragnalo was a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, The University of New Hampshire, from 2003 to 2005 where he assisted on-ice practices and was the team's video coach as well as earning his Masters of Teaching - Physical Education. Bragnalo left SSM in 2011 to become the Associate Head Coach for the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL. In 2015, Bragnalo won the Clark Cup with the Stampede after winning the USHL's playoff championship.
Bragnalo, a defenseman, played four years at the University of New Hampshire from 1996-1999, playing in two Frozen Four Championships. In 1999, Bragnalo's Wildcats lost in OT to the University of Maine in the NCAA National Final game. Bragnalo also played minor professional hockey from 1999-2002.
Bragnalo currently lives in Faribault, MN with his wife Brita and their three kids Max, Bode, and Giada.

Coach Michael Carpentier graduated from Shattuck-St. Mary's School with the class of 2000. He attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and returned to his alma mater for the 2005-2006 school year. Coach Carpentier resides with his wife and four sons on campus.
