The Boys U15 soccer team is the youngest team in the Shattuck-St. Mary’s Boys Soccer Center of Excellence and is a member of the MLS NEXT elite youth development platform, competing throughout the United States. The program provides nearly double the training hours, games, and showcase opportunities than most programs with the added benefit of being uniquely built into the demanding academic schedule of a college prep school.
Student-athletes train daily with competition on weekends, afternoons, or evenings and each participates in a year-round strength and conditioning program. Players have access to three full-sized soccer fields: one indoor synthetic turf, one outdoor synthetic turf, and one natural grass, a brand new 10,500 sq. foot weight training and conditioning facility, video room for team and individual analysis, as well as an athletic training room providing advanced aquatic therapy and full-time athletic training staff.
SSM has placed an impressive 99 percent of its players in collegiate soccer programs and has contributed two players to the Men’s National Team, eleven players to professional teams, thirteen players to the Youth National Team, and two players to the Futsal National Team.
I joined the Boys Soccer Center of Excellence in August of 2022 as the U15 Boys Head coach.Previously I was the director of coaching for Papillion Soccer Club in Papillion, Nebraska.
I attended Creighton University from 2004-2008 and played a key role in four conference championships, an appearance in the Elite 8 in 2005, two Sweet-16 appearances in 2004 and 2007, and a first round appearance in 2006.During this time, I made the 2004 MVC all freshman team, the 2005 MVC all tournament team, and the 2007 MVC second team.
After my four-year career at Creighton ended, I was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes in the 2008 MLS supplemental draft with the first pick in the second round.I ended up doing a preseason with San Jose and featuring in two games, but ultimately, did not sign with them.
I always knew I wanted to be a coach while I was a player, so I decided to hang up the boots to become a coach. My first coaching job was a huge success.I was the graduate assistant at Hastings College from 2009-2011.During this time, we won the programs first NAIA National Championship, set the NAIA all-time record for consecutive wins, and set a new NAIA national tournament record for most goals scored in a championship.
After my stint with Hastings, I came to Shattuck for the first time.I was an assistant with the U16DA team from 2012-2016.Shattuck let me experiment in our own lab and find different ways to cultivate training and to get the best out of not only players, but the coaches as well.Very few jobs in the country are as educational and hands on as this one.You get to be on the field as much as possible and get to be a master of your craft.
After I left Shattuck in 2016, I wanted to try my hand in the college game again.I went to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida as an assistant coach.I spent two successful seasons there including advancing to the conference final in 2017.
After that, I went back to Hastings and became the head coach in 2018 and was there until 2021.During my time at Hastings, we advanced to another national championship, this time losing the final in 2019.I also coached numerous All-Americans, conference players of the year, and professionals.

I joined Shattuck-St. Mary's School as the Head of Recruitment and U15 Assistant in August of 2024, following a stint as the Associate Director of Athletics and Head Boys’ Soccer Coach at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire. Prior to Brewster, I spent 10 years coaching and teaching at various prep schools in New England, Texas, and Illinois. This educator’s journey, by way of soccer coaching, has taught me the importance of holistic youth development on and off the field.
I entered the coaching profession as an 18-year-old, mostly because I wanted to give back to soccer’s global community, a community that has given me so much over the years. Within this dynamic and constantly evolving world of soccer, I aspire to leverage my experiences to help develop talented and compassionate human beings. Soccer, and SSM’s core values have the incredible power to teach lifelong lessons through competition and collaboration.
It has become apparent to me, and integral to my practice, that I learn alongside the players I coach. A graduate of Boston College in 2013, I have since earned my USSF “C” License in 2019 and my UEFA "B" License in 2023. Each educational milestone has certainly helped me along my coaching journey, and each day I look forward to learning from - and being challenged by - the vibrant community at SSM.
