Shattuck St. Mary’s School “SSM”, a residential boarding school located in Faribault, Minnesota is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team. This position will perform preventive and routine maintenance and installation of equipment, facilities, and operating systems within the school, residential halls, and faculty residences. This is a full-time, year-round position. Starting on or about July 7, 2026. Typical workday schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm. Starting pay is $24.60//hour
Required Qualifications:
- Valid MN Driver’s License
- Must perform duties with social sensitivity, courtesy, and tact
- This is a physical job requiring employee to regularly use hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, walk and lift
- Ability to follow directions, problem solve and manage multiple projects
- Must be comfortable with technology, use of email to communicate, understanding of software and equipment manuals
- Must be authorized to work in the US and pass criminal background check
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties associated with minor maintenance and custodial care of facilities
- Set up and break down of school events
- Snow removal at building entrances and sidewalks
- Duties could include working in all areas of the facilities and grounds departments to provide support during staff absences and to perform duties associated with light construction projects, school events, and snow removal.
- Requires flexibility and understanding that all facilities staff may be required to perform duties outside their normal area of expertise to meet the needs of the school
