If it’s broke, fix it!
Students ages 10-16 looking for an opportunity to improve their skills in technology are invited register for the new Fix-it Camp being offered at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School this summer on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Fix-it Camp will offer participants the chance to enhance their troubleshooting skills and encourage innovative solutions to challenges youth often face when creating projects on their own. The camp will begin by troubleshooting and replacing components on drones and branch off to other challenges as time permits.
The cost for each camp is $76 and need-based scholarships are available. More information and registration can be found here or by contacting the [email protected] program at [email protected] or 507-333-1562.
“Fix-it Camp will take an innovative approach in that rather than starting with the creation of something new, we’re going to start off with things that are already broken so we can put a greater emphasis on the skills students need to blast through problems they encounter in their own projects,” said John Blackmer, Director of the [email protected] program. “Problem-solving is an important tool for creative kids to have.”
This camp represents the latest offering of Shattuck-St. Mary’s [email protected] outreach programming, which strives to engage learners throughout the local and neighboring communities in science, technology, engineering and math pursuits.
