Greetings from Faribault—
Just a week ago today, we announced that we would be transitioning to distance learning through the month of April. Since then we have been busy; 350 students moved out of our dorms in record time, hundreds of family members traveled hours to collect their students, dorm parents and other members of our staff worked tirelessly to help aid in the move-out process, and now the campus is quiet. Eerily quiet.
Our faculty, including our teachers, coaches, advisors, athletic trainers, college counselors, and more, have spent the last four days preparing for classes to resume on Monday, albeit at a distance. The efforts made to be ready in such a short time are herculean, and I am so incredibly proud to be a part of the Shattuck-St. Mary’s community.
Keep washing your hands, practicing social distancing, reading great novels, exercising your bodies and minds, finding opportunities for self-care, and looking out for friends, loved ones and those in need. This is the way we can live our mission both on campus and beyond the Arch.
Stay healthy and safe.
