Head of School Reflects on the Last Week of Classes

May 14, 2020

Our school leader reflects as students and faculty gear up for the end of the school year!

Greetings from Faribault!

Today marks the penultimate day of distance learning classes, and we are a day away from concluding our penultimate week of the 2019-20 school year at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School. It has been just over eight weeks since all of our students had their last in-person class, and there is no other way to say this: we miss that normalcy terribly.

Next week, students will continue to finalize their assignments and complete any missing work, and then summer break 2020 begins in earnest. We here in Faribault are actively preparing plans for a gradual reopening of campus, and we are working with the Center for Disease Control and Minnesota Department of Health guidelines to create a safe and prepared environment for our employees and students to return. We can’t wait for everyone to return.

Stay healthy and safe,
