Luke Combs is a 30-year-old multi-platinum recording artist signed to Columbia Records Nashville. Comb’s multi-platinum “What You See Is What You Get,” record is already out everywhere. It was number 1 for 24 straight weeks, and now has been #1 for 25 weeks total. It features 18 songs, with artists such as Eric Church and Brooks & Dunn as features.

The most played songs according to Apple Music include “Beer Never Broke My Heart,” “Even though I’m Leaving,” “Lovin’ on You,” “Does to Me,” and “Better Together.” This work is Luke Combs’ smash hit. Songs from this album can be heard all over the world, especially in the Shattuck St.-Mary’s Dorms. The work goes from softer songs such as “Better Together” to southern late-night anthems such as “Lovin’ On You” and “Moon Over Mexico.” Combs shows off his range within the country genre with this album.

Some songs are not “mainstream,” but Combs chose to explore other arenas of the country genre. Charlotte Sonntag ’22, Hockey Center of Excellence declares, “I love that album. Combs’ really showed off his vocals and created an album that people from many backgrounds will enjoy.”

Luke Combs was born in Charlotte, NC. He moved to Asheville, NC, at age 8, where he went to high school, playing football and singing in choir. Combs’ attended Appalachian State University, dropping out before his senior year and moving to Nashville, TN to pursue his music career.
