SSM Students Make a Difference on Hands Across Faribault Day

September 25, 2015

Friday was a beautiful day for the 6th annual Hands Across Faribault Day.

Faribault, MN– Shattuck St. Mary’s School celebrated Founders’ Day on September 25 with Dr. Annette Parker, president of South Central College offering a keynote address to the school community. Dr. Parker urged those present to remember that “service does matter.”

It was in this spirit that the Shattuck-St. Mary’s community of students, teachers, staff, and trustees spread throughout Faribault for a morning of helpful service. Groups stenciled reminders in front of storm drains, assisted at the elementary schools, cleaned and organized at Ruth’s House, packaged meals at Jesus Food, and sorted items at Goodwill, among many other activities. In total, 35 organizations were impacted and more than 500 volunteers from Shattuck-St. Mary’s joined in the sixth annual Hands Across Faribault.
