October 16, 2015

SSM student ranks in the top three percent of test takers nationwide.

Sean Dunlop ’16 was named a National Merit Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program, an honor less than three percent of test takers nationwide received. After his performance on the PSAT/NMSQT exam last year, Sean was one of 34,000 students named a National Merit Commended Student out of more than 1.5 million students who took the exam.

In addition to his academics, Sean, a senior from Oakton VA, also competes for the Boys U18 Soccer team as a member of the Soccer Center of Excellence.

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes commended students for their outstanding academic promise. From the pool of 50,000 students eligible, 34,000 were named National Merit Commended Students. The top 16,000 advanced to become National Merit Semi-Finalists.
