In China, during family weekends, we always have meetings for students and parents about the students’ grades - since getting good grades is one of the most important things in China.
Students and parents might not be happy after the meetings if the student did not get a good score on his or her test.
However, after I came to America, I have experienced a totally different kind of family weekend. I enjoy watching performances that students prepared for their parents and teachers. During Fall Family Weekend, the foods are served well and they taste yummy. Even though my parents can not come to see me and meet with my teachers, I still Skype with them and share things that have happened here. Since it is a longer weekend, I sometimes go out to eat with my friends.
Therefore, I think Shattuck is more like my family now. Even though my real family is not here, I still feel good to be on campus and be with friends.
