Deriving Inspiration Through Empathy and Leadership

October 05, 2016

“I aspire to be like him and have as much of an impact on someone as he has on me.”

We asked Shattuck-St. Mary’s seniors to reflect on a faculty or staff member in the SSM community who inspires them, and feature several of their responses below.

“Mr. Varley, because I can joke around with him and be myself. He makes my days better in all of the craziness at SSM. I aspire to be like him and have as much of an impact on someone as he has on me.”

“Flame is a great person, has a great ponytail, and is very intelligent. Parents will be willing to spend more money on a School with awesome tutors like Flame helping their children.”

“I feel like other students in our school inspire me. On days when I don’t feel like getting up to practice but I see my friends working hard even on the bad days, it gives me the power to work hard too. It is great how students wants to help each other and do their best all the time. This gives me a lot of energy too.”
