ScholarShift Stories: Exploring the Culture and Food of the Hispanic World

October 28, 2016

Students explore rich Hispanic cultures and traditions.

Shattuck-St. Mary’s School students went on a delicious journey through the food and cultures of the Hispanic world as part of a three-session ScholarShift module on October 17, 19, and 21.

Led by World Languages Instructor Leita Gjersvig, the module explored the rich and varied food traditions in different Hispanic cultures through virtual trips to several countries, hands-on cooking demonstrations, and tastings of prepared food.

The sessions culminated with an authentic multi-course meal prepared by participating module students and shared during the group’s final meeting at SSM’s Harrington House.
