Following a competitive audition process, participants in the program received individual coaching sessions with an accompanist and Rochester Symphony Orchestra & Chorale Music Director Jere Lantz leading up to their master class performance with the Orchestra.

On Sunday, November 6, violinist Maria Chirinos ’18 won a performance award in the Mary West Competition and was one of 11 musicians selected to perform in the “Winners Recital” on Sunday, November 13 in Minneapolis at the Lake Harriet United Methodist Church.

Additionally, Maria competed in the Mankato Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition on November 19 and won the Grand Prize, which will include a performance with the Mankato Symphony this coming spring.
