Valeria Cox Takes on the One Million Pillowcase Challenge

December 15, 2014

Typically, students learn to sew by making something for themselves. Valeria Cox ’17 is not typical.

Valeria Cox ’17, started sewing last week by creating pillowcases for cancer patients as part of the “One Million Pillowcase Challenge.” At a starting rate of four pillowcases in two hours, there is no telling how many she will be able to make. Valeria hopes to make 100 pillowcases before Christmas.

The One Million Pillowcase Challenge, presented by American Patchwork & Quilting,

challenges quilters, sewers, and crafters to to donate one million pillowcases to local charities. Currently, the official counter is over half a million pillowcases and growing.

Val needs YOUR help! If interested in making pillowcases, please talk to Valeria or Mrs. Sobol about how you can help.
