Color Throw Raises Funds for International Charity

Students throw color packets, participate in a dunk tank throw, and enjoy an outdoor meal in support of World Vision.

Students had a blast and kicked their weekend off with a burst of color on Friday, May 5 during a Color Throw event.

Participants purchased color packets, with all proceeds going to charity, before gathering in white on the campus lawn near the Chapel, where they launched their packets and turned each other into colorful canvases.

Following the throw, students had the opportunity to sink Mr. Blackmer and Ms. Brown, SSM’s brave dunk tank volunteers, and enjoy a grill-out, ice cream, and other games. 

The Color Throw and subsequent events were spearheaded by Gabi Clark ’17 as part of her senior leadership project. The event successfully raised $648 in support of World Vision, a global Christian humanitarian organization that partners with children, families, and their communities to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
