Collaborative Design Project Brightens weCreate

Swatch Wall enlivens upper weCreate.
A new “Swatch Wall” installation in upper weCreate has piqued student interest and brightened the area! Visual Arts Instructor Polly Isurin came up with the idea as she and weCreate Director Stephanie Vagle brainstormed ways to transform the upstairs nook area in weCreate. Paint swatches were procured, velcro was purchased, time was allotted, and with the help of Kristina Zaslavskaya ’17, who fell in love with the project, the wall became a reality.

Zaslavskaya and Ms. Isurin worked collaboratively to design and install the Swatch Wall. Inspired by the colorful display, new, vibrantly colored pillows were purchased to replace the old, tattered Performance Studio pillows to complement the new Swatch Wall, and several students walking by expressed interest in creating their own paint swatch projects.

As the school year concludes, Ms Vagle and Mr. Peck are making plans for continued work with students on their transformative design ideas in weCreate next year. Creativity is contagious!
