Students enjoyed a full day of creative filmmaking on Thursday, June 29 as part of Movie Camp offered by Shattuck-St. Mary’s The Major and the weCreate Center.
Led by Director of The Major Craig Peck, Director of weCreate Stephanie Vagle, and Director of Summer Programs John Blackmer, students had the opportunity to not only learn how to use new technology, but also develop their skills as film editors and storytellers.
During the morning, students learned to use hand-held copter cams, equipped on drones, and shot footage around campus. Later, using SSM’s digital film production and editing equipment, students cut their footage and created a narrative story with their work, utilizing weCreate’s green screen and Final Cut Pro software to complete their finished projects.
