The 100th Anniversary team performs for a large audience on Monday.

The 100th Anniversary team of the Wooden Soldiers drilled for an audience of 100 members of the Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf on Monday, February 12. The 11-member team has begun its 2017-18 full drilling season, and will appear at Jefferson School, Roosevelt School, the National Guard Armory, and offer a free drill for Faribault residents in May.

Captained by Rebecca Hu ’18, this year’s team has members from grades 8-12, with the young women hailing from China, the United States, and Korea.

Following the drill, the team answered audience questions and then invited the younger students up to try some manuals. Deb Kasper, SSM ASL teacher, W.S. team advisor Jan Gould-Martin ’75, Crack Squad advisor Richard Kettering, and Corrine Kelly ’85, W.S. captain mentor, accompanied the team.
