Shattuck-St. Mary’s Hosts Korean National Hockey Team

March 13, 2015

The Women’s Korean National Hockey Team is spending two weeks at Shattuck-St. Mary’s to prepare for the World Championships 2015 in Dumfries, Scotland.

On March 9, the Korean Women’s National Hockey team arrived on campus with their coaching staff for a two-week Minnesota Training Camp. Former Sabre Sarah Murray ’06, who is serving as Head Coach, is the connection between the team and SSM. She wanted to give her players opportunities to challenge themselves in real situations along with a rigorous training schedule. The first of five games against the Girls Prep and Girls U16 teams took place on Wednesday night. The Sabres were victorious 7-1. In between games and workouts, the team is visiting the Mall of America, attending a Minnesota Wild game and practice, and enjoying several dinners hosted by former SSM parent Ruth Murray.
