Family and Pets

I live in Northfield with my partner, our turtle, and three black cats of varying sizes.

Favorite Place on Campus

My favorite place on campus is either my classroom when it’s full of students goofing around after lunch, or the Middle School Dining Hall during Marzetti Cup activities. I love watching students from all different backgrounds collaborating and having fun together.

Favorite Book

The Secret History by Donna Tartt, Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh, The Talented Mr. Ripley by Patricia Highsmith, The Mysterious Benedict Society by Trenton Lee Stewart…I could go on for ages.

Why I love to teach

I love to teach because I love seeing what connections students can make with the material we’re discussing; the most exciting part of my job is learning about my students through how they relate to what we’re reading or watching. Spending time with students from several different countries at once means there is never a dull moment.

Reading, trying out new recipes without lighting my kitchen on fire, devising obstacle courses for my somewhat chubby cats, reading, traveling to the Twin Cities to discover new restaurants with old friends, watching movies with my partner, and reading.
