FARIBAULT, MINN. — Shattuck St. Mary’s School (SSM) has unveiled a new brand identity, including updated school and athletic logos and a new tagline, marking the first comprehensive branding update for the School in more than a decade.

The refreshed identity reflects both Shattuck St. Mary’s deep-rooted history and the institution's forward-looking vision. Developed in partnership with the branding firm Generation, the new brand brings clarity, consistency, and confidence to how the School presents itself across academics, athletics, arts, and more.

“Our goal in this process was to create a brand identity that brings clarity and consistency to how we share the Shattuck St. Mary’s story,” said Megan Maschoff, Director of Communications. “The insights and conversations from across our community helped shape the identity we are excited to move forward with.”

The updated school and athletic logos create a more unified visual identity across campus, competition venues, and digital platforms. Central to the updated school logos is the fleur-de-lis, a symbol that honors St. Mary’s Hall, the historic girls’ school established in the 1860s alongside Shattuck School, while also reflecting its use as the official symbol of the City of Faribault. The inclusion of 1858 in the school crest reflects Shattuck St. Mary’s founding and reinforces the School’s enduring commitment to excellence. The athletic logo has been thoughtfully refreshed to align with the new brand system while preserving the elements that have become synonymous with Shattuck St. Mary’s athletics and the Sabres legacy.

The new tagline - Where Goals Lead - captures the spirit of Shattuck St. Mary’s and reinforces the School’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and purposeful growth for every student.

The branding process included extensive input from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and families. Their perspectives helped ensure the final identity authentically represents the Shattuck St. Mary’s experience and the values shared across generations.

“Shattuck St. Mary’s has a long history of excellence and, at times, reinvention,” stated Head of School, Matt Cavellier. “As we look to celebrate the past and move forward into the future, our new branding manages to capture both the legacy and the continued relevance of the work we do every day.”

The new branding will be introduced in phases across SSM’s website, social media, campus signage, and marketing materials through the rest of the 2025-26 academic year, with full implementation at the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
