It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of Marlys Petrie Johnson's passing on August 18, 2023. May she rest in God's peace.
Marlys passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born on August 24, 1937, she recently celebrated 61 years of marriage with Richard “Dick” Ray Johnson. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she cherished family, hosted gatherings, and found joy in tennis and golf.
Marlys and Dick founded Plains Plastics in 1978, retiring in 1996 to Wichita, where they built their dream home at Flint Hills National. The family is grateful for the care she received in her final months. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kansas Humane Society.
